NALC

Organized in 2010, the North American Lutheran Church (NALC) is a fast growing Christian church body in the Lutheran tradition.  As a member of the NALC, Emmons Lutheran Church is united with over 142,500 Lutherans in over 430 congregations throughout North America and embodies the theological center of Lutheranism, deeply committed to the authority of the Bible as the inspired Word of God.  In keeping with the Lutheran Confessions, we believe all doctrine should and must be judged by the teaching of Scripture.

Emmons Lutheran Church became a member of the NALC in January of 2012.

Congregations of the NALC are joined together in Mission Districts, usually joined together by region.  Today, there are currently 37 Mission Districts of the NALC across the United States and Canada.

The Iowa Mission District was formally organized in 2011, and includes all NALC congregations and Pastors within the state of Iowa and two congregations in southern Minnesota.  Today, the Iowa Mission District has 37 member congregations, making it one of the largest Mission Districts in the NALC.

Emmons Lutheran Church was formally received into the Iowa Mission District in 2013 and was the first Minnesota congregation to become a member of the Iowa Mission District.

Whether you’re interested in ordained ministry or simply want to get a better grasp of Lutheran theology, the NALS has a degree program for you. We are a close-knit community of students, faculty, and staff who worship together, break bread with one another, and support each other through the ups and downs of seminary education. We are orthodox, confessional, and evangelical—Christians from different backgrounds joining together to learn how to proclaim God’s Word and administer his Sacraments. At the NALS, you’ll receive an academically rigorous, biblically sound theological education. Your classes and conversations will prepare you to answer the hard questions without being afraid to answer them yourself. Is God calling you to ministry? Consider the NALS.

  • Founded in 2014, the NALS is the seminary of the North American Lutheran Church.
  • The NALS offers an MDiv, an MAR in Church History and Theology, a Diploma in Lutheran Studies, and a Certificate in Lutheran Studies.
  • In conjunction with Trinity School for Ministry and the NALC Candidacy Committee, the NALS offers robust scholarships that will keep students from accumulating large amounts of debt.
  • Daily worship and weekly Eucharist brings the entire community together under the proclamation of the Gospel.
