Confirmation
The Confirmation ministry of Emmons Lutheran Church is a two-year program for youth in 7th and 8th grades which involves an intense study of the basic doctrines of Scripture and the Christian Faith. We utilize Luther’s Small Catechism and the Egermeier Bible Story Book as our guides. In addition to classwork, students are given opportunities to put their faith to work through service projects, activities, and fellowship in addition to service within the congregation by serving as acolytes in our worship services, Sunday School Classroom helpers, and in other areas in the life of the congregation.
We will kick off Confirmation this year on September 6th, 2023 at Java and Jesus from 7:30 – 9 pm at Swallow Coffeehouse. Classes will resume meeting on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 pm to 8 pm on September 13th, 2022 in the Confirmation Room, with Pastor Henkel and Mr. Nate Sletten co-teaching. We will also be incorporating a supper-time pizza option for any student that would like to attend from 6-6:30 pm on Wednesday evenings when we are in the classroom.

Adult Bible Study
Imagine what it would be like, and what Jesus would do through us in the North American Lutheran Church (NALC) if we collectively renewed our commitment to our Lord’s commission to make disciples, and if we together reaffirmed our desire to become the fulfillment of his commandment that we love one another as he Has loved us?
Imagine what might happen, if every pastor and every congregation and every member in our church body made this same personal commitment to be living witnesses to and for our risen Lord Jesus?
Our vision is that the NALC will reclaim the confessional Lutheran emphasis on ongoing catechesis and intentional faith formation in the life of all of its congregations. This same disciple-making identity will permeate every NALC congregation, be adopted by every NALC pastor, and become part of our church body’s DNA. Our vision also includes becoming known to the ecumenical community as a church body that takes seriously its calling to make disciples and intentionally cultivates a framework to do so in its congregations.
Starting January 2nd, the Tuesday Night Bible Study group will be diving into “NALC’s Life-to-Life Discipleship.” Join us for Supper starting at 6 pm and Bible Study starting at 7 pm. Childcare will be provided.
